Supervisor - Classic Billet & Rolling Mill

The Rolling Mill Supervisor will be a leader in the rolling mill department. The individual will have
Rolling Mill Operators under them who will be performing the production processes.
Location: Orrville, OH
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor attendance and hours of the Operators and other employees in the department
- Production Planning and Scheduling
- Evaluate the department workload and determine the appropriate shifts, crews and schedule
- Conduct on-the-job training for new and current employees
- Train new employees so that they understand customer requirements and acceptance criteria
- Contact maintenance and discuss equipment that needs updated or fixed to increase efficiency
- Follow work instructions and procedures for each job
- Review and monitor daily production reports
- Inform manager or quality of any discrepant material or noncompliance’s that does not meet quality or customer requirements.
- Work from drawings, work orders, and instructions covering production parts or tooling requirements
- Assure that the preventive maintenance program is being kept up to date and make necessary adjustments
- Perform routine maintenance necessary for proper care of equipment
- Assure that the rolling machines are cleaned and lubricated as needed
- Record time and production in proper format; place required markings on materials as needed
- Enforce all safety requirements and wear all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Requirements:
- The employee should have good computer skills
- familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
- familiar with various production databases
- The employee must be able to work towards deadlines
- Must report to work routinely and promptly
- 3 years management experience is preferred
- College degree is preferred (manufacturing experience may be substituted)
- ISO 9001 Quality System experience is preferred
- Should be familiar with safety regulations in manufacturing environment
- Candidate should have a High school degree or equivalent
- One to two years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and transfer blueprint information to material
- Ability to read operating procedures and work instruction / traveler
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have ability to bend, kneel, crawl, push, pull, reach, climb and carry various materials, tools and equipment
