Manufacturing Team Lead - 2nd Shift

The Manufacturing Team Lead supports the Supervisor in overseeing day‑to‑day manufacturing operations and ensuring smooth execution across shifts. This role promotes safe work practices, monitors adherence to quality standards, and facilitates clear communication and coordination between teams and departments. The Team Lead plays a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and quality‑driven work environment while actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Location: Orrville, OH
Shift: 2nd Shift - 3pm - 11:30pm
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support nuclear safety and ensure adherence to all safety procedures and safe work practices
- Identify, correct, and escalate unsafe behaviors or safety concerns as needed
- Promote high‑quality workmanship and identify, report, and elevate potential quality issues
- Collaborate with team members and cross‑functional departments to support efficient operations
- Ensure smooth shift turnover and continuity of operations across shifts
- Receive, interpret, and execute verbal and written instructions from supervisors or managers
- Complete work orders, reports, and required documentation related to daily activities
- Conduct pre‑job briefs, toolbox talks, and shift updates
- Mentor and train new employees on safety procedures, shop practices, quality standards, and productivity expectations
- Direct and delegate work activities within the department as assigned
- Identify and recommend process improvements and encourage employee engagement
- Input and maintain accurate data in spreadsheets, databases, and other reporting systems
- Attend required in‑person or virtual meetings and communicate effectively via email and Teams
- Work with HR and management to address employee relations matters as appropriate
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Basic to intermediate computer proficiency, including data entry and use of spreadsheets
- Previous experience leading, training, or directing employees in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to clearly convey information to individuals and groups
- Proven dependability with strong time‑management and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet productivity, quality, and safety goals
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments, shifts, and functional teams
