Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician ensures the reliability, safety, and performance of production equipment and facility systems supporting Holtec’s manufacturing operations. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery critical to daily operations. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to both preventive maintenance and urgent repairs. Working closely with operations, engineering, and safety teams, this position also requires the ability to interpret technical documentation, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and performance
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade mechanical and electrical systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, lubrication, power transmission, cranes, and mobile equipment)
- Diagnose and repair components such as motors, wiring, PLCs, I/O modules, VFDs, and power supplies
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Install and wire new equipment, including conduit and power systems, per specifications
- Inspect, dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment; support commissioning and decommissioning activities
- Test equipment to verify effective repairs and proper operation
- Complete work orders, track parts, and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Assist with maintenance planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize work and resolve technical issues
- Apply strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex technical environments
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience (or equivalent combination of education/training, including military)
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, lubrication, and power transmission systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical instructions, and equipment documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Solid understanding of industrial safety practices
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments, including exposure to varying conditions (e.g., shop floor, warehouse, outdoor areas)
- Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field
- Experience with overhead cranes, mobile equipment, and welding support systems
- Knowledge of motor controls, PLC troubleshooting, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with CMMS
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with quality and safety standards
