Holtech Internation seeks qualified applicants for the Lab Technician - Level II position at the Orrvilon Manufacturing Division provides high‑quality engineered aluminum systems, structures, and components to a wide range of industries including aerospace, automotive, heavy industrial equipment, and building/construction. The 300,000 sq. ft. modern vertically‑integrated facility enables simultaneous manufacturing processes and in‑house material testing for carbon steels, stainless steels, copper, aluminum, metallic powders, composites, plastics, and thermoplastics. The lab supports company‑wide quality, production, and R&D activities through mechanical and chemical testing performed by qualified personnel. The Lab Technician – Level II is an experienced laboratory professional responsible for performing advanced material testing, supporting process improvements, and assisting in the development of laboratory procedures. The Level II technician works with greater independence and may provide guidance to less experienced staff. Perform advanced chemical and mechanical testing in accordance with laboratory procedures (e.g., tensile, Charpy, Rockwell hardness, thermal conductivity, ICP‑OES, Glow Discharge, CHN analysis). Develop and revise work instructions and contribute to procedure development. Validate test data, prepare technical summaries, and support quality investigations. Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to resolve material‑related issues. Support audits, internal reviews, and laboratory improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and assist with calibration activities. Train and mentor Level I technicians in laboratory methods and safety. Maintain a high level of documentation accuracy and compliance with ASTM, ASME, and other applicable standards. Lead specific lab projects assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor.
Minimum Technical Requirements:
- 4‑year degree in physical sciences or engineering OR
- High school diploma with 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and laboratory data systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Good understanding of mechanical and chemical properties of metals and materials.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and maintain reliable transportation.
- Ability to work overtime or weekends as needed.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME Section III & Section VIII, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, NQA-1, and 10CFR21.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Desireable Qualifications: Experience with chemistry techniques (titration, gravimetric analysis, solution prep). Familiarity with mechanical testing (tensile, hardness, impact). Experience with advanced analytical instruments (ICP‑OES, Glow Discharge, CHN). Working knowledge of ASTM/ASME material testing standards. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and prior experience with procedures. Prior experience in a manufacturing or vertically‑integrated production environment. Familiarity with corrective action processes and quality systems (ISO, NQA‑1, etc.). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
