The Program Manager, Business Development is an experienced professional with commercial and/or business development expertise that supports existing projects and grows the company’s core business in the energy industry. This role requires specific focus on commercial nuclear power plants and clean energy technologies. The Program Manager, Business Development will report to the Director of Holtec Europe and will be based in Madrid, Spain.

 

The position will require frequent travel to client, government entities offices, and conferences within Europe and internationally. In addition to developing and maintaining relationships with clients, the position includes additional responsibilities such as support to proposal and pricing preparation, etc. The candidate must be highly motivated, results-oriented and capable of interacting with business executives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients and partners in Holtec’s core business areas.
  • Support Holtec’s market-entry and market-expansion efforts by assessing geopolitical, regulatory, stakeholder dynamics, etc., in target markets.
  • Support engagement with the U.S. government agencies, and follow-up with individual supporting agencies to advance Holtec’s business objectives, coordinating with Holtec Europe’s and U.S. business development teams.
  • Support negotiation and execution of strategic agreements, including commercial arrangements, MOUs, cooperation agreements, and partnership structures.
  • Identify and attend conferences and marketing events in territory that result in new business.
  • Support review of contracts with Holtec’s legal team and add value with regards to risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide support to proposals preparation in collaboration with Holtec Europe and Holtec corporate offices business development team.
  • Register with potential clients for RFPs, by preparing and submitting bid-qualification responses.
  • Identify suitable vendors for projects, coordinate and manage communications with the vendors.
  • Provide support to Holtec’s US-based and Holtec Europe’s project teams during project execution of projects, supporting the resolution of any technical, contractual, or regulatory issues with the client and interfacing with local subcontractors.
  • Provide weekly sales reports on potential business opportunities.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development.
  • Experience operating in the nuclear or energy sectors.
  • Experience engaging with senior government officials, U.S. government and international agencies will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Strength in critical thinking and communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events
  • Fluent in English language.
