Position: Radiochemistry Technician
Location: Palisades Energy
Holtec Palisades seeks qualified applicants for the position of Radiochemistry Technician in its Chemistry department based at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, MI.

Job Summary:
Provides laboratory-based project work related to sampling plant systems, diesel fuel and associated testing. Ensures all projects and analysis complies with the chemical hygiene plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides corrosion control.
- Complies with laboratory quality control requirements. Performs instrument calibration and operation. Responds to off-normal conditions. Inputs chemistry data into data management system.
- Maintain chemistry levels within established limits and below action levels.
- Performs data reviews and trending.
- Communicates to chemistry management in a timely manner regarding any issue affecting plant chemistry. Complies with the Chemical Control Program.
- Responds to out-of-specification chemistry. Understands adverse chemistry effects on equipment performance. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required: 1 year technical training.
- Desired: B.S. Degree in chemistry or a related technical degree, Naval Nuclear Power School, Engineering Laboratory Technician School, or equivalent work experience.
- Technicians shall have 3 years of working experience in their specialty of which 1 year should be related technical training. They should possess a high degree of manual dexterity and ability and should be capable of learning and applying basic skills.
- Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations.
- Proficiency with current computer business applications.
- Chemistry Lab Technician 1: BS degree in Chemistry or related technical program or approved Apprentice Program.
- Chemistry Lab Technician 2: 2 years commercial nuclear experience. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations.
- Chemistry Lab Technician 3: 4 years commercial nuclear experience.
This is a union position and could be filled by a Radiochemist I, II, III OR Sr. depending upon qualifications.
