Holtec Palisades seeks qualified applicants for the position of Manager, Engineering Design & Analysis in its Engineering department based at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, MI.

Job Summary:
The Design and Analysis Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the design engineering team at our nuclear power plant. This individual will lead a team of skilled engineers responsible for the conceptualization, design, and implementation of nuclear power plant system modifications, ensuring they meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards. The Design and Analysis Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, safety, and regulatory compliance, to drive continuous improvement and innovation in plant design. This position also serves as the Design Authority for the station.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of engineers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence within the engineering team.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Oversee all design engineering projects, ensuring they are completed within budget, schedule, and quality parameters.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands and priorities.
- Ensure appropriate procedures, codes, and standards are followed in design basis changes and analytical work.
- Ensure engineers and supervisors demonstrate appropriate quality and rigor in design and analysis activities
- Govern design engineering processes, practices, and procedures to industry best practices.
- Ensure that all design activities comply with relevant nuclear safety and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies to address compliance issues and implement necessary changes.
- Identify potential design risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain safety and reliability standards.
- Drive innovation in design engineering practices and technologies to enhance plant performance and safety.
- Champion initiatives for process improvement and cost optimization.
- Work closely with operations, safety, maintenance, and other departments to align design efforts with overall plant goals and objectives.
- Provide technical expertise and support for plant modifications and upgrades.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations or Equivalent Experience. (Equivalent Experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Manager level. A degree is very strongly preferred.)
- 8 years’ experience in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations, P&SO, or equivalent. 5 years of supervisory/management experience in an operating nuclear power plant environment.
- SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR (desired).
- Professional engineering license (desired).
- Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-1978. ANSI Section 4.2.4 - Technical Manager. 8 years responsible positions related to power generation, of which 3 years shall be nuclear power plant experience. A maximum of 2 years of the remaining 6 years’ experience may be fulfilled by satisfactory completion of academic or related technical training.
