Position: 2026 Summer Intern – Security
Location: Palisades Energy
Dates/ Duration: Summer 2026 (approx. May - September)
Holtec Palisades seeks a highly motivated Summer Intern for Security Operations with the company’s Security department located at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, MI.
Palisades is positioned to become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. By joining our team, you will be part of a unique and historic undertaking for the nuclear industry and the nation!
In order to be considered, candidates must be actively enrolled in a college or university. Pay will be determined based on years completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review teams’ job performance measures, coaching data, qualification review.
- Preparing, reviewing and communicating the Security Newsletter to the organization.
- Conduct monthly meetings with the Operations Supervisors to ensure organizational alignment.
- Assist the Security Operations team and Superintendent on day-to-day tasks and assignments.
- Assist with administrative tasks including document management, filing, and tracking of security records.
- Maintain and update spreadsheets, logs, and tracking tools used for daily operations and training activities
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice/Applied Science or related field.
- In good academic standing, with a GPA of at least 3.0.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Well organized and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and appropriate attitude, appearance, interpersonal skills, and work ethic.
Desirable Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to follow procedures and complete routine tasks accurately
- Interest in security operations, law enforcement, or related fields
- Data entry, document organization, and record-keeping skills
