Job Description:
Holtec Advanced Manufacturing Division in Camden, NJ is seeking an experienced Inspection Supervisor with a strong background in Nondestructive Examination (NDE) and preferred experience with dimensional inspection. This leadership role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing inspections across the facility, ensuring compliance with all code, quality, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate will hold current NDE certifications, possess strong technical expertise in inspection methods, and demonstrate the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing inspection team. The Inspection Supervisor oversees daily activities of NDE and dimensional inspectors, ensuring that inspections are performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with internal and external requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting manufacturing, engineering, and quality functions by ensuring product integrity and facilitating continuous improvement.
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
- Plan, schedule, and assign inspection tasks (NDE and dimensional) to inspection personnel based on production priorities.
- Ensure all NDE inspections (MT, PT, VT, and others as qualified) are executed in accordance with applicable procedures, industry codes, and customer requirements.
- Review and approve inspection results, reports, and records prior to release.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering teams to address non-conformances, technical issues, and workflow challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to provide technical insight regarding inspection requirements and outcomes.
- Supervise, mentor, train, and develop NDE inspectors and dimensional inspectors.
- Ensure employees maintain required certifications and training (SNT-TC-1A, code updates, internal qualifications, etc.).
- Conduct performance evaluations and participate in selection and onboarding of new inspection personnel.
- Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Leadership, Supervision & Team Development
- Supervise, mentor, train, and develop NDE inspectors and dimensional inspectors.
- Ensure employees maintain required certifications and training (SNT-TC-1A, code updates, internal qualifications, etc.).
- Conduct performance evaluations and participate in selection and onboarding of new inspection personnel.
- Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
- NDT Level II ASNT SNT-TC-1A certifications in MT, PT, and VT (required).
- 3–5 years of NDE inspection experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead, supervisory, or mentoring capacity.
- Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection tools, techniques, and GD&T fundamentals (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of industry codes, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Optional Additional Qualifications:
- Dimensional inspection certifications or documented proficiency (CMM, laser tracker, precision metrology).
- Additional NDT Level II certifications (UT or RT).
- Experience with heavy fabrication, machining, or nuclear manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital inspection/reporting systems.
Salary Range: $90,000 – $105,000 Annually
