Quality Engineer III

The Level 3 Quality Engineer leads enterprise-wide quality initiatives and ensures compliance with nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for shaping quality strategy, driving innovation in quality systems, and serving as a technical authority on quality matters. The Level 3 Quality Engineer will provide guidance to senior leadership and mentor engineering teams across the organization.
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
- Define and lead enterprise‑level quality strategy, objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Serve as the technical authority on applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations (including ASME, ISO, NQA‑1, and NRC), and lead engagement with regulatory and governing bodies.
- Lead third‑party audits and regulatory inspections, acting as the primary interface with the NRC and other authorities.
- Oversee, approve, and govern complex quality documentation and procedures, including design verification, inspection plans, and regulatory submissions.
- Develop and deploy advanced quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, DOE, reliability engineering, risk mitigation).
- Drive supplier quality strategy, including supplier qualification, performance monitoring, corrective actions, and oversight at vendor facilities and construction sites.
- Mentor and develop engineering and quality staff; lead technical training and knowledge‑transfer programs.
- Partner with executive leadership to influence product, process, and system design to ensure quality, compliance, and operational robustness.
- Represent the company in industry forums, technical committees, and external regulatory or professional engagements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 10+ years of progressive quality assurance experience in the nuclear industry or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Expert‑level knowledge of ASME Section III & VIII, ISO 9001, NQA‑1, 10 CFR 21, NRC regulations, and Commercial Grade Dedication requirements.
- Proven ability to lead quality programs and enterprise‑level, cross‑functional initiatives in complex, regulated environments.
- Strong leadership, strategic, and communication skills, with experience managing and mentoring technical teams.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or engineering roles (5+ years).
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action programs, and procedure development.
- Knowledge of NDE methods and dimensional inspection tools (e.g., CMM, FARO Arm) preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, quality management systems, and data analysis tools.

- Annual compensation based on skills and experience ranging from $95,000 - $110,000
