Job Title Quality Engineer – Level 2 Quality Engineer

Location: Camden, NJ

Job Description:

Holtec International is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Level 2 Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance initiatives across multiple projects and departments. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer specifications and applicable industry codes and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of nuclear industry standards and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. The Level 2 Quality Engineer will mentor junior staff, and serve as a key liaison between engineering, production, and regulatory bodies.

 

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead the development, tracking, and analysis of key quality metrics, present findings to senior management.
  • Oversee calibration programs and ensure traceability of inspection and test equipment.
  • Review of purchase orders and material certifications for compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, surveys and surveillances.
  • Review and approve quality records and documentation packages.
  • Support nonconformance investigations and corrective/preventive action processes.  Lead complex nonconformance investigations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and resolve systemic quality issues.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on quality systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Support regulatory and customer inspections and interface with external auditors.
  • Perform oversight at vendor facilities and during construction activities.
  • Preparation and review of procedures.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years of quality assurance experience in the nuclear or manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME Section III & VIII, ISO 9001, NQA-1, and 10CFR21.
  • Experience in corrective action processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership in quality systems implementation and audit management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

 

Optional Additional Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge with NDE methods:
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection tools (e.g., CMM, FARO Arm).
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Prior experience leading teams or mentoring junior engineers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and data analysis tools.
  • Prior experience working in the nuclear industry.

 

Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 Annually
