The Quality Engineer I supports the implementation and maintenance of quality systems for manufacturing and project activities, helping ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable industry codes and regulations. This role works closely with the Quality Manager, production teams, project managers, and suppliers to support quality performance, documentation integrity, and continuous improvement across operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing, tracking, and reporting key quality metrics to management
  • Support calibration programs for inspection and test equipment
  • Review purchase orders and incoming material certifications for compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in internal and external audits, surveys, and surveillances
  • Review quality records to verify acceptability and compliance
  • Support nonconformance investigations and corrective and preventive action processes
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements
  • Assist with training personnel on quality processes and requirements
  • Perform quality oversight at vendor facilities and during construction activities

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of quality assurance experience, or a high school diploma with three (3) years of quality assurance experience, or five (5) years of quality assurance experience.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME Section III and Section VIII, ISO 9001, NQA‑1, and 10 CFR 21
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience with quality inspection and verification methods, including NDE techniques and dimensional inspection tools (e.g., CMM, FARO Arm) preferred
  • Familiarity with corrective action processes, quality procedures, and quality management systems preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing and/or nuclear industry environment, with proficiency in Microsoft Office software preferred

  • Annual compensation based on skills and experience ranging from $70,000 to $85,000
