The Machine Shop Supervisor oversees daily machine shop operations, ensuring production activities meet Holtec’s standards for quality, efficiency, and safety. This role provides hands‑on leadership across machining operations, establishes and maintains production standards, and partners with plant leadership and cross‑functional teams to support delivery commitments, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily machine shop operations to ensure production schedules are met safely and efficiently
  • Develop manufacturing plans, procedures, and production standards to meet customer and company quality requirements
  • Supervise associates, enforce safety protocols and company policies, and drive productivity improvements while minimizing scrap and rework
  • Analyze scrap, rework, and performance data to identify trends and recommend operational improvements
  • Adjust production schedules and priorities as needed to meet delivery requirements and changing operational conditions
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, process optimization, and efficiency
  • Oversee equipment condition, coordinate plant changes, and support repairs or maintenance activities as needed
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and other departments to meet customer demands and quality objectives
  • Support training, safety compliance, and performance evaluations to maintain a skilled and compliant workforce

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience with a strong understanding of machining processes
  • At least ten (10) years of experience operating CNC and manual machine tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications; basic understanding of CNC programming required
  • Strong safety background with demonstrated ability to enforce safety procedures
  • Ability to work all shifts and weekends as required
  • Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions

 

Compensation

  • Hourly compensation based on skills and experience ranging from $90,000 to $120,000
