Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Dimensional Inspection Technician to join our manufacturing quality team. This individual will be responsible for performing precision measurements and inspections using FARO Tracker, FARO Arm, and ideally Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) or CNC machining/programming. The role requires a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings to ensure product quality and compliance.

 

This position supports manufacturing and engineering teams by providing accurate dimensional data, troubleshooting non-conformances, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

 

  • Perform dimensional inspections using FARO Tracker and FARO Arm on components and assemblies.
  • Operate and program CMM equipment or apply CNC machining/programming knowledge to support inspection tasks.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications using GD&T principles.
  • Document inspection results and generate detailed reports for engineering and quality teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve dimensional discrepancies and improve inspection processes.
  • Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Assist in developing and refining inspection procedures and work instructions.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
  • Related job experience can be substituted for education requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in dimensional inspection using FARO systems or similar experience.
  • Experience with CMM operation and programming or CNC machining/programming.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with ISO and ASME standards related to dimensional inspection.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

 

Optional Additional Qualifications:

 

  • Certifications in metrology, quality inspection, or CNC programming.
  • Experience with 3D scanning and reverse engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office.

 

Salary Range: $83,200 - $104,000 Annually
