Position: 2nd Shift Production Supervisor
Place of Work: Orrvilon Manufacturing Division in Orrville, OH
Holtec International seeks qualified applicants for a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor position in its Manufacturing department based at Orrvilon Manufacturing Division in Orrville, OH. The Production Supervisor will support and maintain standards for safety, quality, and productivity. Follow and enforce all safety and quality procedures and practices and supports the Nuclear Safety Culture. Perform pre-job briefs, toolbox talks, weekly surveillances and turnover updates. Observes work and monitor operations to ensure that employees conform to production or processing standards. Conducts on-the-job training for new and current employees and verifies monthly training modules are complete. Understands and communicates specifications, drawings, work instructions and communicates them to employees. Communicate with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments. Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequence to meet/exceed production goals. Provides suggestions for continual improvement processes and engages employees to actively participate. Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. Monitors equipment parameters/temperatures throughout the shift. Performs minor maintenance or pm activities. Ensures the plant standards of housekeeping are enforced along with plant shut down at the end of the week. Monitors attendance, payroll times and cost codes for employees. Addresses employee issues and works with HR to resolve concerns.
Minimum Technical Requirements:
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) preferred.
- Communication skills to present information to individuals/groups, ability to listen and respond to others.
- Organizational and time-management skills to achieve established goals.
- Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with others, encourage teamwork and cooperation.
- Leadership skills to coordinate, facilitate, and participate in a collaborative approach to complete tasks and assignments.
- Read and understand engineering and quality documents such as drawings, procedures, work orders.
- Read and write operating procedures and work instruction/travelers.
Desirable Qualifications: High School or Equivalent Degree. Three years of management experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
